Vince Clarke and Martin Gore Reunited

I have to confess, I’d almost forgotten Martin Gore and Vince Clarke were in Depeche Mode together. It’s been almost 30 years since they brought you songs like “Just Can’t Get Enough” and “Dreaming of Me”. Vince went his way, playing in Erasure and Yazoo, and Martin of course helped bring Depeche Mode to new heights of success. The electronic pioneers are  back together with VCMG, their collaboration on Mute records.  From Martin Gore’s website comes this explanation of how they reunited:

“Out of the blue I got an e-mail from Vince just saying, ‘I’m interested in making a techno album. Are you interested in collaborating?’ This was maybe a year ago. He said, ‘No pressure, no deadlines,’ so I said, ‘OK’.”

Look for a full length, as yet to be titled release, from VCMG in the spring of 2012. In the meantime, they’re releasing a series of EP’s starting with ‘Spock’.  It’s available for download now with a vinyl release coming soon and remixes galore. ‘Spock’ is streaming now at Soundcloud.
