Flaming Lips and Death For Cutie Collaboration

Summer’s music festivals are the ideal places for all sorts of bands to meet up and give birth to new creative projects. Such was the case at this summer’s Montreal’s Osheaga festival, where The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne interrupted an interview Death Cab for Cutie‘s Ben Gibbard and Nick Harmer were doing with Spinner to ask them about the possibility of doing a collaboration EP.

According to Coyne, The Flaming Lips have been doing short collaborations with many musicians recently, including Nick Cave and Neon Indian. Gibbard and Harmer were interested in joining too and the two bands planned to make it happen mid-interview.
